Inspire Northumberland works strategically with all its partners across Northumberland, advising, advocating and delivering projects that are agreed as regeneration and development priorities through the Inspire Northumberland Panel. A major aim of Inspire Northumberland is to help young people connect to their environment through providing exciting and contemporary art and design experiences.
Since Summer 2006 Inspire has been managed by a full time Public Art & Design Officer, Wendy Scott and a part time Project Assistant, Janine Goldsworthy.
From 1st April 2008 Inspire becomes Inspire Northumberland working in partnership with Rebecca Farley of Commissions North
Wendy was formally the Visual & Public Art Officer for Darlington, where "West Park Darlington" a ten year regeneration programme related to an arts and poetry strategy underpinned every aspect of the project. It won the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) Gold award for "Sensitivity in Regeneration". She was the curator of Myles Meehan Gallery delivering an exhibition programme of regional, national and international artists. She has been a freelance visual artist, an artist in education for Tyne & Wear Museums Service and a Visual Arts Development Officer at Customs House in South Tyneside where she curated the gallery and worked on the £3m Art on the Riverside public art programme. She has a degree in fine art and a post graduate diploma in arts & cultural management.
Janine is a visual artist and a founder member of Rednile, a collaborative artists organisation that is based in Sunderland.
Rebecca works part time for Commissions North and is a freelance consultant working with Grit&Pearl
