As part of Design Event '07 Inspire is coordinating a mobile design exhibition; READesign in collaboration with The Keelrow Bookshop in North Shields. This independent bookshop has recently opened and contains a substantial collection of antique design books that will be researched for British domestic iconic items of the past.

Vanitas

Mike Golding's Vanitas photographic commission in Ashington town centre, comprising of banners and large images on gable ends of the shops in Station Road has won the ATCM (Association of Town Centre Management) awards for 2007 in the category "creating quality environments"

Farewell

British Alcan Aluminium plc. is sponsoring the Inspire architectural commission Farewell by Paula Chambers at Experience Woodhorn. The memorial piece made in aluminium represents the miners that lost their lives at the Woodhorn Colliery. There are 98 miners gloves in the shape of doves. Each dove represents one of the local miners.
